Silence

Silence

There is a silence
that exists
only in small moments
of life.

Blank, intentional space
that surrounds us
Wraps its way around us.

A soft buzz
only the few lucky ones
who sit and find
pause,
get to hear.

No breeze,
no bugs,
no breath,

more
an absence of sound—
both soothing and terrifying.

I felt it once.
And still

it haunts me.

A Night With A Dragon

The dragon’s head was large, she said.
She repeated: LARGE.

Which head was she referring to? They wanted to know.
Details, please.
We have never been with a dragon, they said.

Nobody has been so lucky.
I cannot give more than that.
Fires will be blown if I let on more.

Did it bite you? They wanted to know.
Only in the best ways, she replied.
And did it speak?
In whispers. In tongues. I could not understand.

And will you see it again? Should we say “he”? They wondered.
No, we shall not meet again.
I want all of him, but a future together is not in the cards.
Dragons are lonely creatures,
and I need more love than he can give.

But you don’t regret it? they asked.
No, I regret nothing, she said.

Let's Talk

Long nights, called
Hard fights, called

Tried true, called
Fell through, called

Fists first, called
Heart burst, called

Nothing new, called
Déjà vu.

Homage to: Rupi Kaur.

She was a snowflake.

Beautifully unique
tender and gentle
but she melted away
far too quickly.

You are a rainbow

appearing after a dark
and cloudy day,
but disappearing
with the same softness
you arrived with.

Martin Creed- Work no. 202

When are you walking
Through a sea of 20 000 black balloons
You may feel small
Yet infinite.

Images of self surrounding you
And multiplying you
And if you are happy,
Then they are happy.

Losing concept of space and place
You be ever present-
In a moment
That may seem dark
But in reality
Leads perfectly to light.

You are there.

Just as I am feeling sad and lost
You pick me up with gentle hands
And show me how you care.

Just as I find myself falling into darkness
Your light pours over the world
And shows me the brightness I could not see.

Just as I can't seem to find the words
You guide me to truth
And let songs be sung to share
How much I love you.

Just as I need you,
You are there.

Just as I miss you,
You come to my side.

So when I fall or can't find my way
I picture you
to bring warmth to every day.

Peace by the river

It has been three hours of light, softness and warmth
Looking over the calm river with slow minutes passing by.
Mouths and hands are coming and going
All are playing, smoking, drinking and being.
When one leaves another simply drifts in-
Nothing really changes here by the river.
Life passes simply and simply passes.
Here we find the peace that can touch us all,
An embrace that will catch you if ever you fall.
